The Parent Council is a group of parents who have children at the school and their role is to:
support and work with those managing the school in their efforts to raise standards of education in the school
make representations to the headteacher and to the education authority about the arrangements in the school
promote partnership between the school, parents, SBC and the community
support parental involvement in the life of the school
The Parent Council meets regularly in the school with the Headteacher and came about as a result of the Scottish Schools (Parental Involvement) Act 2006, which gives parents the right to receive information about their child's education and to be represented and share views through the Parent Council.
